Shop Like A Boss!

Posted on 04:12 by Lillie Anduce

"Shop Like a Boss" is the new campaign for Kmart. Basically, this commercial it's all about your grandmother teaching you how to be cool and buy stuff online. The ad promotes their new digital platform, where any consumer can buy products and choose the payment method that suits best: by cash, check, debit, credit card or in the store.

This is a successful case of advertising: it's funny, it's catchy, it's an elderly woman buying pink lacy underwear with two gangster looking boys. I rest my case.

The campaign was developed by creative agency FCB Chicago, and already has over 400,000 views on YouTube. I have to say I loved it, it made me laugh and I'm sure it's going to bring a lot of attention to their online platform.  You can watch the full video below:

Obesity alert: Rewind the Future

Posted on 03:09 by Lillie Anduce
Credits

"You have to make a change!"

This video from Children's Healthcare of Atlanta has a powerful message: you can meet Jim, he's a young man who is arriving the Hospital having a heart attack. And then, we hear the doctor asking "how the hell does that happen?" Well, it happens, nowadays more than ever, and this is a way of fast forwarding into a scary future that many of us can experience.

Here are 10 facts about obesity, according to the World Health Organization:

1. Overweight and obesity are defined as "abnormal or excessive fat accumulation that may impair health"
2. More than 1.4 billion adults were overweight in 2008, and more than half a billion obese
3. Globally, over 40 million preschool children were overweight in 2008
4. Overweight and obesity are linked to more deaths worldwide than underweight
5. For an individual, obesity is usually the result of an imbalance between calories consumed and calories expended
6. Supportive environments and communities are fundamental in shaping people’s choices and preventing obesity
7. Children's choices, diet and physical activity habits are influenced by their surrounding environment
8. Eating a healthy diet can help prevent obesity
9. Regular physical activity helps maintain a healthy body
10. Curbing the global obesity epidemic requires a population-based multisectoral, multi-disciplinary, and culturally relevant approach

Let's make a change in order to have a brighter and healthier future!

Regarding Your Internship with Grey Enterprises‏

Posted on 17:23 by Lillie Anduce
Last month, I received the following e-mail at work: "Welcome to Grey Enterprises Inc Intern Program: Ready to Begin?" I giggled like a school girl caught doing something nasty for five minutes. Literally, five minutes. I almost felt ashamed of how an easy target I was or was the whole thing  of 50 shades of Grey just too...brilliant?

Movie Marketing: Regarding Your Internship with Grey Enterprises‏
Movie Marketing: 50 shades of Grey
Credits
Nowadays, we live connected to each other now thing moves according to a plan, together, as one massive marketing machine. The movie industry has already cacthed up. Will you?

“Uh Oh, Uh Oh, Uh Oh, Oh No No.”

Jesus.  I felt a chill. How can I be this easy of a target?  But then I remember, it’s me and my friends that they are aiming for. And it’s genius too. Although the story wasn't hand crafted for millennials it stroke a chord amongst them, for sure ( or maybe just me and my horny girlfriends). They want me to spent money on it and the really want to do it in a way so sneaky that you actually enjoy giving your money away.

Ok. Let’s face it. 50 shades of grey probably won’t make it to the list of the greatest movies of IMDB ( but the Razzies won’t ignore it, I’m sure). “How did we turn this around?” I could almost hear the gears turning in the marketing department and what they have came up with is pure evil: meet the flawless Queen of the millennial and the perfect brand ambassador: Beyoncé.

She turns whatever she touches into gold. She makes everything seem cool.  Two days before releasing the official trailer Yoncé put out a 4 minute previewthat guaranteed thousands of seats in the theater.

It’s all about the experience!

Genius marketers have put it all on the experience: they have created a intern program so that every fan girl (guilty as charge) and they have created a way to tie all of it to social media so you can share your identity card at grey enterprises with everyone. They are definitely targeting the millennial and even millennials that think themselves as too cool to go see a movie about SM that turned out to be a love story.

Here, they give the most important marketing lesson of our time, kids: it’s not about the product you have, but how you deliver it. It’s all about experiencing the product, nothing more, nothing less.

And we crave different experiences like no other generation before. Life is too short for plain vanilla…if you know what I mean.

Laters baby,

You Top Crusher,
Alex

Crushing on Chris Pratt

Posted on 13:13 by Lillie Anduce

Crushing
Credits

Well, let's not pretend we haven't all got a crush on Chris Pratt. Okay? No need to be a liar here. First of all, we have to give him credit for that incredible body transformation, it shows a lot of commitment and motivation... I need some life and gym lessons from this guy urgently.

Second, he is a great actor with a lot of sense of humor and goofiness and that's what we love to see on screen. He's conquering the galaxy (literally) and I hope to see more of him in other movies from now on.

Did I mention that we want to see more of him? Oh, yeah, I did. Sorry, my bad. Also, I have to say I loved The Guardians of The Galaxy and I'm really eager to see another Jurassic movie: my inner 7 year old is super excited!

Concluding my humble point of view: this guy was great before (he has such a beautiful wife by the way) but now he is Star Lord, and he definitely reached another level of awesomeness. #gochris!

The Fault in Our Stars

Posted on 16:14 by Lillie Anduce
Spoiler: sad and depressed post ahead.

Yeah, I finally got the courage to watch The Fault in Our Stars. Obviously, I saw it yesterday and I’m still crying a bit and all depressed inside at the moment.

Sadness apart, it’s a really romantic movie about teenage love. I believe that only a soulless person would watch this movie without shedding a few tears. Even your boyfriend will cry, I can guarantee. If he doesn't, then you should break up with him right now, because you’re dating a psycho.

This kind of story is what makes us believe in authentic and faithful love. Okay?

Brooklyn Nine Nine: the law, without the order

Posted on 03:18 by Lillie Anduce
Have you been watching Brooklyn Nine-Nine? If you haven't, you should start now! This sitcom about a NYPD team of detectives is so funny it actually made me like cops shows again. The truth is everyone is sick and tired of the usual CSI stuff, and Brooklyn Nine Nine brings some fresh air to this kind of TV show. The episodes are short (20 minutes) and you just want to keep watching them, one after the other.

The cast
Credits

About the writing: the dialogues are full of jokes, some are smart, some are just stupid, which is precisely what we need.. we can't be thinking all the time! Regarding the cast: what a bunch of lovable weirdos! The characters are different of what we are used to and they are hilarious:

Seriously, give it a try.

When did she stop treating you like a hero?

Posted on 13:14 by Lillie Anduce
Remember that time when Saint Hoax used our most beloved Disney princesses to approach the subject of domestic violence? Well, now he's using Disney again, but with our princes instead. The powerful message here is that it's not only women who suffer from this kind of violence. Men tend to suffer in silence, because society doesn't understand that it's no shame to admit that a man can be the victim too. You know what, anyone can be the victim here, and it's not a reason to be ashamed. Let's stop this violence!

Saying goodbye to Mr. Keating

Posted on 02:30 by Lillie Anduce

Today is a sad day. Mr Keating has left the classroom. Robin Williams was found dead in his house, he was 63 years old and one of the few actors that could make you cry with the same intensity as he could make you laugh.

His career was long and full of hits that made my 27 years a happier place. One of those great movies was the coming age story of a group of students that learn how to suck the marrow out of life! I can still hear you, Robin “Carpe diem. Seize the day, boys”.

Dead Poets Society shaped my generation, shaped me. Part of me still yearns for a leader that could make me stand on a desk and yell out “Oh captain, my captain”!  Today, we pay homage to Robin Williams as Millennials and the world alike mourn the passing of Mr Keating.

10 quotes from “Dead Poet Socieciety” that get you every time:

No matter what anybody tells you, words and ideas can change the world. ( Who can forget?)

Sucking the marrow out of life doesn't mean choking on the bone.

We're not laughing at you - we're laughing near you. (Who never?)

It's not the Bible, you're not gonna go to Hell for this.

This is a battle, a war, and the casualties could be your hearts and souls.

Boys, you must strive to find your own voice. Because the longer you wait to begin, the less likely you are to find it at all. Don't be resigned to that. Break out!

Mr. Anderson! Don't think that I don't know that this assignment scares the hell out of you, you mole! ( he yells that to a scared Etahn Hawke and you really think he's screaming that at you and somehow you find the courage you need)

I SOUND MY BARBARIC YAWP OVER THE ROOFTOPS OF THE WORLD. (and Charlie steps out of the bathroom with a great lightning on his chest)

Now, don't just walk off the edge like lemmings! Look around you! (Thank you Mr Keating...)

There's a time for daring and there's a time for caution, and a wise man understands which is called for. (so long great teacher I have ever had)

Crushing on my country: Vila Nova de Gaia

Posted on 02:24 by Lillie Anduce
I live in a city in Portugal called Vila Nova de Gaia and I love it here. I'm one of those people who loves to travel and then, when the week is over, I always want to go back home. Gaia is where I feel at home.We are part of the district of Porto, but separated from Porto city by the Douro river. Here are the places that I believe you should visit if you have the opportunity:

Wine Cellars

Many people don't know this but the Port wine cellars are actually located in Gaia. You should visit them to learn our history and, of course, appreciate our wine, it's a remarkable experience that you will certainly enjoy.

Credits

Cais de Gaia

Nice view, all the traditional boats going around in Douro river, great restaurants and even a cable car up in the air, if you are feeling more adventurous. What else do you need?

Credits

Zoo Santo Inácio

This is a great place if you like animals and wildlife. It's a great location: an old country house that was rehabilitated, and this zoo has lots of species and also a beautiful garden. I'm an animal lover and I like to go there because they are kept in huge spaces and are really happy and well treated.

Credits

Senhor da Pedra

Senhor da Pedra is a chapel from the 17th century, located in Miramar beach. It is so beautiful and peculiar, because it was built on a rock by the sea and sometimes it is completely surrounded by water. It is truly spectacular!

Credits

I only want to add that these are only four of the many beautiful places in Gaia!
I'm sure there is no place like my home!

12 songs to make a girl smile, by Justin Timberlake

Posted on 09:39 by Lillie Anduce
Oh, there he is! Our infinite crush, our handsome and talented man.
Yes, I’m a teenager sometimes and I love it. For all the super fans of JT, 12 songs where he says all you ever wanted to hear.

Ready?

1. ‘Ain't nobody love you like I love you
You're a good girl and that's what makes me trust you
Late at night I talk to you
You will know the difference when I touch you.’

You’re the difference, that's the difference baby!

2. ‘She's got me love stoned, man, I swear
She's bad and she knows, I think that she knows.’

Woow, really? Same here, same here, we swear too!

3. ‘Don't be so quick to walk away
Dance with me
I wanna rock your body
Please stay.’

You don't need to beg, you know it, right baby?

4. 'How would you like to fly?
That's how my queen should ride
But you still deserve a crown
Well hasn't it been found?'

Oh, breathe in, breathe out! A ride to fly like a queen? Our king!

5. ‘Baby I'm your slave
I'll let you whip me if I misbehave
It's just that no one makes me feel this way.’

Them other boys don't know how to act, you're the best bringing sexy back!

6. 'I can't wait 'til I get you on the floor, good-looking
Going hot, so hot, just like an oven
And owww burned myself, I just had to touch it
But it's so fire and it's all mine.'

It's all yours baby, you're a classic!

7. 'Well I'm freak you right, each and every night
I know how to do it insane girl
'Cause I can make it hot, make it stop
Make you wanna say my name girl.'

We already say your name 2.5 million times a day, easy, easy!

8. 'She kill me with the coo-coochie-coochie-coo...'

She kills you? How ? How? How?

9. 'But I could be that guy to heal it over time
And I won't stop until you believe it
'Cause, baby, you're worth it.'

Never give up, never give up, right? You’re awesome!

10. 'Cause I don't wanna lose you now,
I'm looking right at the other half of me
Cause it's like you're my mirror staring back at me.’

Oh, mirror mirror on the wall...who's the cutest of them all?

11. 'Zoom, zoom, zoom in on you
I only see you.'

We got that tunnel vision for you! Zoom zoom zoom!

12.  'Ain't another woman that can take your spot my love!'

Boy, you amaze us, so don't give away!

He knows how to do it!

Plus size Pirelli!

Posted on 02:13 by Lillie Anduce
Every year Pirelli presents us with a brand new calendar full of beauties in it. This year, the brand decided to invite the plus size model Candice Huffine to be part of it. I don't really like or agree with the term "plus size" as I believe that they are only "normal size" people, but I really applaud this choice!

Fist of all, take a look at the photographs, she's gorgeous! And second, I believe that this kind of choices will make a difference on the beauty stereotypes that rule the fashion world nowadays. Things are starting to change: skin and bone is not the only kind of beautiful we appreciate. I'm waiting to see the outcome but I'm sure Candice will rule the place!

Crush of the Day: Ben Khan

Posted on 03:12 by Lillie Anduce

Savage mode
Credits

I found him unexpectedly on the radio and I already love him. Ben Khan is a 21 year old boy from London and he released this year an Extended Play with four amazing demos, “Savage”, “Youth”, “Eden” and “Drive (Part1)”.
The EP, entitled 1992, is available on Soundcloud and you must give him a try. Ben is already called a neo-soul hero with a hypnotic style between his voice, the melodies and the basslines.

Is electric, deep and mind-blowing. All you can ask.

We want more, Ben Khan!
